Did you know...?

Ordering direct from USA will cost you more? Here is why:

Shipping Cost
US vendors will charge you for international shipping, which on average is 30% of the item value.

Import Taxes and Duties
Canadian customs will charge you taxes for any imported goods valued over $20. Although the taxes are not more than what you would pay if purchased within Canada, if your import broker is not familiar with the item you are importing you might end up paying higher duties.

Brokerage fees are applied to any item valued over $20.
If you don't have a broker of your own, then the courier company will act as your broker to import your item to Canada. The cost of the brokerage service, depending on the item and value is usually between $35 to $70.

Higher Credit Card or Paypal Exchange Rates:
When buying from US using your credit card or Paypal, even when the US and CAD exchange rates are at par, you will be paying higher rates for spending US dollars using your CAD credit card or Paypal.

Shipping Cost for Returns
If by any chance you decided to return the item you have purchased, you need to pay for international shipping rates as opposed to domestic rates. And some, US retailers don't except returns as they have to pay the import brokerage fees when you return their items.
