Very frequently only very faint stars will be in close proximity to the object you wish to see. In such cases even at the dimmest setting of the Telrad there might still be a small amount of glaer on the Telrad's window.
The Pulser offers a "blinking" mode for the Telrad. This means that the three rings of the Telrad will switch on and off periodically. While the rings are switched off there will be no glare at all and you will see fainter stars. On average this will gain you one order of magnitude!
